Paper Description
Innovation has a key role in the competitive positioning and performance of organisations. For example, it assists in creating new products, identifying new markets, developing new business models, transforming industries and revitalising mature organisations. In this paper, research on the nature of strategic innovation will be examined, discussed and evaluated. In addition, you will study innovative businesses to learn how successful innovations are developed and implemented.
Paper Structure
The focus of this paper is to review and critique strategic innovation theories and their fit with innovative business practices.
The background concepts for each topic will be provided online in Moodle using videos and powerpoint.
In class and via Zoom, we will briefly discuss the key readings for each topic - as a workshop (in the first 60-90 mins of the scheduled class).
You will be responsible for reading, reviewing and discussing articles, completing a research project, as well as conducting a literature review project.

An introduction to each topic, summarised in a Powerpoint presentation and video recording, will be provided in Moodle.
Zoom will be used for all the class workshops, team meetings and virtual office hours.
